VOLUNTEER FOR THE CIRCLE OF LOVE FOUNDATION
It is a heartwarming feeling to go shop for toys and stack them up under the brightly-lit Christmas tree in our office and watch the pile grow as donations pour in, but it is an even more powerful feeling when we are physically sorting the toys and deciding how to distribute them. It all becomes real when we realize how happy the building-block set we are holding will make a little boy or girl. When we can picture the youngster playing with the toy we are holding after opening it up on Christmas morning, it warms our hearts to a degree that we simply cannot feel while looking at our numbers from previous years. We want to share this joy with everyone who has supported our foundation over the years by opening up our new campaign, Children Helping Children. This gives children who will have a Christmas the ability to help another child who would otherwise not. It gives entire families a way to get involved in community service over the holidays. This not only gives our foundation the joy of giving, but it helps us share that joy with others.
This year we are very excited to partner with the Altamont School to get their students involved in some hands-on helping that will hopefully infect the school with a contagious burst of glee, causing more students to seek out ways to serve their community.
It took very little time for our helpers to feel right at home wrapping and sorting the toys. They were saddened by the realization that some kids just aren’t as fortunate as they have been, but became downright jubilant at the thought of a fellow child enjoying the same sorts of activities they do. It was like watching them befriend the child they were sorting toys for. That is what makes all the difference: connecting the toys to a real person, someone in their peer group who needs more help than any of them had thought previously.
The Circle of Love Foundation seeks to inspire children to create a better tomorrow. Through this campaign, we can inspire a generation to give back through their lifetime to those who need it. By helping them make these connections and giving them a safe place to help out, we hope that those on the giving end and those on the receiving will have hearts that are equally warmed.
